It was either 1904. Or 1914. I’d have to look it up again. Originally it was the German Village and The Savoy moved to this location I believe sometime in the 20s. Originally the Savoy was at 113 n Washington Before the block was taken over with the Second National Bank Building.
We had family visiting from Washington state. Only in town two days. We took the day off to visit with them Monday. It is ourslowest day. We will reopen Tuesday 8am. We posted on Facebook but forgot to place a sign on the door. See you soon
Delicious
Great food and great ppl👌🏽
Delicious food, friendly service and good prices!
Service was really slow. 5 other tables arrived after us and all were served before us. Plan extra time on concert nights. Food was good.
The first Philly Cheesesteak I've had outside of Philly that lived up to the standards of a cheesesteak. The cozy environment and friendly staff help make this a certain enjoyable meal. Just make sure you come early or make reservations as it will get packed fast!
Pretty good food. But much like Bringer Inn, after you've left, people can smell the grease on you. But their breakfast is amazing! Great prices and great staff!
Whole menu. Super delicious food. Awesome service.
Great food, awesome staff. They do have non-standard hours, so just double check with them before you head over.
The food was awesome. The staff was very friendly. Hate that the bathroom was upstairs.
Order their special with a cup of chilli. Now when I got there it was $13.00. Kinda shocked me for the special for a sandwich, pickle and cup of chilli. No fries, or chips etc. Then after I pick it up the chilli was freezing cold?? Now the only reason I am writing review is because if you are going to ask for money from the public to keep your restaurant afloat, you should probably be damn sure your orders are right and remember we are in Saginaw Michigan where a $13.00 lunch is not going to sell out anytime soon. Hello Applebees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent server..Very friendly owner..Delicious burger and shrimp dinners at a decent price! Our go to place for food cravings. Thanks Savoy!
Fantastic and historic place to eat. The food is top notch and definitely savory! Warm and friendly waitstaff and a large food selection. Coming back tomorrow because I couldn't decide between two menu items!! Picture is of their famous Val's Hot Beef sandwich. It's leagues above anything I've ever had before. Must try!!
There is a restaurant side and a Bar side. The food was good homestyle food and friendly people... I enjoyed my visit.
The bartender is super friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Awesome food and drinks. Our waitress was also very kind and we had great service the entire time. We will be back to try breakfast too!
This has been on my list for quite some time. Great burger and they are a big part of Saginaw revitalization. We will be back. This establishment proudly serves Coca Cola.
My wife and I come here quite a bit but this was our first time coming for Sunday brunch. I had the crab cake Benedict and my wife had the breakfast quesadilla. The crab cake Benedict was by far the best breakfast I have had, possibly ever. We will be making Sunday brunch here a part of our weekend routine for as long as they do it!
This place has a 60s/70s vibe into it. Lots of frames in the wall. Retro looks and most importantly, good food. The churo waffle is delicious! I ordered 2eggs, bacon & toast, because they don’t have the crab cakes benedicts anymore. I really wanted to try that one. Order came out promptly. Service is great. Overall a good breakfast.
Good food. On Dow Event nights, more wait staff would be great. And, cleaning the grease hoods more often would help with the grease smell.
The service was pathetic. My tiny Gyro burger was dried out and had little flavor. The fries were cold and greasy. $9 is way too much for so little food. I had to goto another place across the parking lot to get enough food. The hostess was very nice.
Great business contribution back to community well recommended
Jim the co-owner was very friendly and personable. The appetizers and dinner were served piping hot. The onions rings were very good and my husband loved the homemade mashed potatoes. The creme brulee was excellent
Just finishing lunch now. Tummy's full, wife's happy and I still have money in my wallet. Great place with awesome atmosphere. We'll be back.
This place has a great feel for it. The way it is decorated is homely and warm. On top of that, food is pretty great too! I recommend checking out their French toast which is covered in frosted flakes!
Friendly staff, big portions. Could have used a little spicier horseradish on my roast beef sandwich, but I enjoyed it as the only restaurant Ive ever gone to in Saginaw.
First time visitor...will make sure I stop again. Service was excellent. Food was plentiful and delicious!!! Prices were spot on. We got a Hot Beef Sandwich. The flavor was as big as the quantity of sandwich...tender, juicy meat smothered in rich brown gravy over real mashed potatoes and white bread. BLT Salad was amazing...they make their own croutons, and they are like crack!!! Coffee cup and drinks never went empty. Cod, smelt and perch so fresh you'd think they just caught them. Jim makes all the cakes on the premises from scratch...and we shared three different kinds!!! Steve (Jeff) made a tray of assorted sandwiches to bring to the nurses that were taking care of my mom...and they raved over how great they were. Food is comfort to my family, and we definitely felt the love!!!
Wow never have I ever had such bad service in my life. Had our corporate credit card for our company wouldn't take the card. A guy screamed at me saying it was illegal to take a card that didn't have my name on it. I politely canceled our order which I understand no need for screaming. We order from them at least once a month. Definitely lost our company business for good. Much friendly at the bringer inn.
French onion soup was awesome, shoulda got a large!
This place is one of the most amazing places of Saginaw's best kept secret. The staff is very friendly, great food at a reasonable price
Pretty good breakfast. The French toast is quite good.
Amazing food & fantastic service! Love this place!
Not all the staff was friendly. No AC when I went around 10:30am, they just left the front door open with ceiling fans on, circulating hot air. Food was great. Parking lot is right next to the building.
Great food, close to the event center. Great staff!
Had the hot beef and is was fantastic, don't let the location shy you away, great service and food
If i could add more stars I would. Great food, staff, and atmosphere. My mom took me as a child and now I take my littles.
Friendly service, great classic food. The historic photos and memorabilia make for a nice atmosphere.
Super delicious food and so home-y feeling. I loved the pictures on the walls and the ceiling too. One of my favorite things about Saginaw.
This place has great food! I love all the history on the walls too. It's definitely on the list of places you have to eat at when visiting downtown Saginaw.
Great service, food, and atmosphere!
Comfort food at it's best. Creme Bruce for dessert is a must try.
This place has been around for many years, I remember my father loved the hot roast beef sandwich. The food is very good and the place has lots of character. Definitely something to keep on your short list if you are in Saginaw.
Love the atmosphere and friendly people! Great food too!!
Very friendly staff. The breakfast burritos are delicious. The burger meat is fabulous.
Great food esp. the fish. No where better.
Amazing food. Good prices. Breakfast is the best
Vegan Benedict was very good!
Love the nostalgic vibe of the place,as well as the griendly staff.
Great foodLocated n real downtown saginawSaginaw made .if u haven't been to this bar u r not from Saginaw
I MYSELF WOULD BE GLAD TO HAVE MY MEALS AT THE SAVOY BAR &GRILL, THE FOID IS AWESOME AND THE PEOPLE ARE VERY NICE AND FRIENDLY,I LOVE IT THERE!!! THANKS SAVOY BAR AND GRILL, YOUR THE BEST IN MY EYES!!! DONALD NOBLE
I had the Tuna Melt on marble rye bread and a bowl of Chili. Both were delicious. Needed to take 1/2 of sandwich home. Really good A bit chilly though but not chilli warmed me enough to enjoy my meal.
Wasted 15 minutes of our lives sitting at a dirty table waiting for service. Spotted 5 employees and none of them would even make eye contact with us. No "Hi, be with you soon!" Before the owner responds to this review that we "should plan our lives better", we got there 2 choirs before the show at the Temple Theater. review that we
A little on the pricey side. But excellent service and excellent food. I come here often during the week. Best burgers and ranch dressing around!
